It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Léo-Paul Viau of Bainsville, age 84 years; at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Micheline Viau (née Boudreault). Loving father of Gaston Viau (Nicole) and Carole Viau. He was a proud Pépere to his grandchildren Sophie Nash (Trevor), Eric (Sarah) and Michel (Katherine) & great-grandchildren Jack & Sam Nash and Evalyn, Madelyn & Rosalind Viau. Deeply missed by his loving companion, Thérèse Therrien. Survived by his brothers Marcel (late Bonnie) and Fernand (Sylvia) & his sister-in-law Louisette Marleau. Predeceased by his parents Elzear and Yvonne Viau (nee Morenger); brothers Joseph (late Audrey), Raoul (late Marie), Antonio (late Hazel) and Armand; by one sister Marie Gérard. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629) on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 6-9 pm and on Saturday from 9 to 9:45 am. A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 10 am. Interment will follow in Notre-Dame Cemetery, Cornwall. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
