It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, Leo Joseph Clarke of Terrenceville. Leo passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Saturday December 9, 2023, at the age of 84, surrounded by his loving family.
Leo was predeceased by his parents, Felix and Susan Clarke; brothers, Robert (Bertha), Mike (Ellen Mary), Bill (Bridget), Felix (Kay), George (Alice) and John Keeping; sisters, Margaret Ellen Cox, Philomena Cox (Will Joe) and Florence Stewart (Ambrose); parents in law, William & Martha Coombs; brother in law, Ralph Coombs (Marie); sisters in law, Ann Hickey (Leo) and Faye Clarke; and son-in-law, Ron Hickey
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Helen of 60 years; children, Daphne Clarke (Walter), Maxine Hickey (Joe), Sharmaine Hickey (Rick), Barbara Clarke (Wayne), Rhonda Cox (Patty), Susan Rideout (Jim) and Terry Clarke (Janine); grandchildren, Sheena Bolt Dominix (Tim), Tyesha Bolt (Jamie), Ronnie Hickey (Carolyn), Kayla Quinlan (Ryan), Katrina Hickey (Jordan), Griffin (Erica), Colby Rideout, Leah & Jared Rideout, Gina Mitchell (Blake), Aaliyah, Arianna, Arabella & Avaiah Clarke; great grandchildren, Ashton, Morgan (DJ), Marissa, JT, Emma, Ira, Anderson, Adeline, Jaxson & Charlotte; and siblings, Elizabeth Hodder (Gus) and Patrick Clarke.
Leo will also be missed and remembered by a large circle of nieces and nephews and many friends whom he cherished.
Special thank you to the staff of the Burin Peninsula Health Centre for the kindness and care shown to Leo during his stay, local ambulance services for your care and compassion and heartfelt and deepest thank you to his home support workers Mary & Amy.
The Clarke Family will be accepting visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on
Monday, December 11th
12noon – 7pm
Funeral Service will take place at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023 at 2:00pm. Cremation to follow.
In Leo’s memory in-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Family in support of the local church effort where Leo enjoyed many Sunday morning masses.
