Lena Maria Eising (nee Hofland)
Lena was called home to her heavenly Father on May 31, 2023 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of Henry Eising for 66 years. Lena was the loving mother of Judy (Ron), Sandy (Theo), Lisa (Eric), and Henry (Marjolein). She treasured her relationships with her grand children Tim, Kate, Terri, Matthew (Lauren), Joseph, Steven, Stephanie, Aiden, Lucas, and Emily. Great grandmother of Callum, Lena, Leo, Evelyn, Ian, and Lexi. Lena will be missed by her siblings Ellen (†John), Ed (Maja), Ben (Angela), and Ralph (Gail). Lena and Henry were best friends as well as business partners. Together, they grew their hobby greenhouse into Eising Greenhouses and Garden Centre. Lena thrived on working hard and could be found in the greenhouses most days, even well into her eighties. They were founders and active members of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church. They enjoyed many friendships within their church community and were grateful for how this nurtured their faith. Lena had the gift of hospitality. There was always room for one more at their table and in their home. She was exceptionally handy and relaxed by sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking. She continually blessed her children and grandchildren, her extended family, her church community, and her many friends and acquaintances with her creations and delicious meals. Lena and Henry were proud Canadians. They both immigrated from Holland in the early1950s, and were thankful for the opportunities that this country provided them and their children. As a child who experienced the deprivation of occupation during WWII, Lena spoke of the gratitude she felt when she looked at her full grocery cart and two packed chest freezers. She loved providing. Visitation will be held at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, 95 Oak Street in Simcoe, on Monday, June 5 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service for Lena will be held at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, June 6 at 11 a.m. Donations to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank foodgrainsbank.ca/donate/ would be appreciated by her family. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to COOPER FUNERAL HOME, Jarvis (519-587-4414). Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.cooperfuneralhome.ca
