Parcourez la nécrologie de Lanfranco Frank Faggioni Thursday September 26th 2024 résidant dans la province Ontario pour le détail des funérailles.
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our dear father “Babbo”, Nonno, Bisnonno, on September 26th, 2024, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of 61 years to Nadia (nee Tassi) predeceased in 2019. Loving father of Marcel (Cheryl), and Peter (Silvia). Dear son of Pietro and Caterina both predeceased. Frank is predeceased by siblings Marietta, Giuseppe (Olga), Nicolo (Livia), and Lina.
Frank had a wonderful sense of humour, which truly created a genuine bond with his loving grandchildren Jordan (Kaytlin), Brianna (Don), Anastasia (Tobiasz), Justin (Stephanie), Mara (Joel), and Thomas and his great grandchildren Amelia, and Venetzia. He will be sadly missed by his many loving nieces and nephews both in Canada and in Italy.
Born in the modest village of Morentella, in the province of Ancona, Italy, he left his home at the age of 18 in the search of a better life. He spent 5 years working in a steel mill, in Villerupt, France, learning various trades, all while looking for bigger and better opportunities. In 1952, he responded to an ad in the French newspaper by the Canadian Government, looking for immigrants to settle in Canada. Although, he did not know anything about Canada, he decided to make the move, which he embraced from the day he arrived. He returned to Italy for a visit where he reconnected with his bride-to-be, Nadia Perocchi-Tassi. They were married on April 2nd, 1959. He returned to Canada soon after the wedding and Nadia followed him, shortly after, making Sudbury their home. Once settled, they both became proud parents of their two sons.
Frank was the founder and president of his construction company Faggioni and Sons Limited that he established in 1962. His persistence, emphasis on quality and unwavering work ethic allowed him to create an impeccable reputation as a quality builder. Frank built many homes in the Sudbury area as well as apartment buildings and completed many home renovations. In more recent years, he also created a “leaky basement” business that thrived for many years, and proudly passed it on to his nephew Fernando Faggioni. He was proud to be a lifelong member of the Caruso Club, The Sudbury Home Builders Association, and a member of the “Associazione Regionale Marchigiana”
Despite our sorrow over the loss of our dear Babbo, Nonno, and Bisnonno, we take solace in knowing that his spirit and good humour will always live within us. So long Frankie… we will miss you forever!
The Family would like to thank Ms. Liz McCrory for the outstanding care she provided our dad during his stay at the Clarion. Also, a special thank you to Jessica and Nancy, also from the Clarion.
