Obituary of Landan Farquharson
A bright burning light in the lives of so many has become a star in the sky. There are no words to describe the impact that Landan William Farquharson made on the people who were lucky enough to know him. He was kind, charming, smart, and unforgettable.
On the evening of Friday, November. 3, 2023, Landan was involved in an accident while riding his dirt bike, only a few minutes from home. Our family’s world is entirely shattered, so many lives and so many families forever changed. Our beloved boy has left a trail of friends in so many walks of life in his short 14 years.
To know him, was to know he was years ahead of his age, an old soul who always had a witty remark or comeback for anything, and I mean anything. He was a jack of all trades; the kid could fix anything. He sported a flannel or Carhartt hoodie and hat 99% of the time.
He walked with a swagger and an up to no good grin, acted larger than life and was always the life of the party. He was forever on the go or involved in multitude of sports, a gifted athlete and dedicated team player who thought his mother was his personal Uber. He did nothing small; he was a “go big or go home” kind of kid, who loved his friends, family, girlfriend, and his dog Koko fiercely.
Landan is the cherished son of Christian Farquharson and Jody Stevenson. A loving big brother to Jaxon, Everley and Ella Farquharson. Loved and survived by his Papa and Mammie Bryan and Carrie Stevenson, Grandpa Rick Wilson (Sharon), Aunt Ashley Kocsis (Uncle Adam), Aunt Krista Stevenson (Uncle Woah Woah) and will be dearly missed by his little cousins who adored him, Addisyn, Aalyiah, Ollie, Wesson-Wyatt, Hayden, and Ryane. Landan will also be missed by his extended family of Great Aunts, Uncles and many second cousins. Landan will be sadly missed by family friend Tony Lima, Lori Almeida, his sidekick Kassidy, his girlfriend Olivia Foreman, and of course, his best bud Campbell.
Predeceased by his Nana and Papa Shoup, Baba and Grandma and Grandpa Stevenson.
Friends are welcome to join the family at a visitation for Landan on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, at Denning’s of West Lorne, 202 Main Street from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A celebration of Landan’s life will take place on Thursday at 1 pm at the Elgin International Club, 11558 Kerr Road, West Lorne. Interment to follow at Woodhull Cemetery, London.
In lieu of flowers, the family has decided to create a scholarship fund for graduates of St. Mary’s School, West Lorne as well as a bursary to help kids afford to play soccer. If desired, you are welcome to make a donation, by cheque to the “Landan Kindness Fund.”
