Kent Dallas Taylor of Collingwood Ontario, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family. Kent fought hard to overcome many setbacks over the last few months, and some say he had 9 lives. Kent was born to Cecil and Thelma Taylor on April 17, 1936, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He enjoyed a successful career in Real Estate Financing and Services with the Edgecombe Group. Kent enjoyed an active life with Diane, his wife of 63 years. Their marriage was one of a truly harmonious union of love and shared interests. They sailed, skied, travelled, played tennis and golf. His love of sports and being active was passed down to his two children, Sue (Wojtek) and Bob (Jeanna). His four grandchildren Alex, Sarah, Alison, and Mackenzie were his pride and joy, and they will greatly miss their grandfather. Kent contributed significantly to causes that resonated with him, especially the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH). He will be remembered for his charm, wit, love of music, generosity, and passion for life. Kent will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he has made throughout his lifetime.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and PSW staff at the CGMH for their compassionate care through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kent’s name to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital.
A family service will be held at a later date.
