Kenneth Robert George
Passed peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on May 7th, 2024 at Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton. Will be forever missed by his loving wife Krystyna of 53 years. Loving father of Steven (Christine) George. Devoted Dziadzio to Samuel and Gabriel George will be sadly missed by his Mother Mildred, siblings Douglas (Jennifer), Reginald Jr. (Cindy), Karen (Chuck) Townley and brother-in-law Mitch (Alice) Szrajber. Will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews Aaron (Rachelle) George, Elicia (Adam) George-Jamieson, Christopher (Darcelle) George, Jason (Michelle) Anderson, Charles (Lauren) Townley, Michelle (Mike) Fischer and Andrea (Patrick) Paladino.
Kenneth was born on July 22, 1951 in Chatham Ontario. He had a fulfilling career at Atomic Energy of Canada spanning 30 years in design drafting, piping, CAD operator-CANDU Reactor. He received many achievements and awards during his years at AECL and had his first “retirement” in 2004. He then took on the role of Senior mechanical technologist-Autoclave team with Hatch Engineering. After his second retirement, Ken followed up with his love of driving and took a job delivering auto parts, just to keep busy!
Ken was the Past Master (member in good standing) with The Grand Lodge of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Canada. Joseph A. Hearn Lodge No. 685 G.R.C.
Kenneth loved the companionship of hunting with his father Reginald Sr. (deceased) in Quebec, although Ken never carried a gun. He was also an avid bank note and coin collector, sharing his passion and knowledge with all.
Kenneth was an extremely loving, generous and kind man. His love for his wife, son and family was what he held most dear. Ken touched the hearts of everyone he knew with his sincere kindness, sense of humour, and love for working and success in life. Ken was never a man to stay idle. He believed in a hard work ethic, and being a contributing member of society throughout his entire life, passing these strong values on to his family.
A special thank you to Dr. Joanne Dionne for her compassion and care. Also, to Ken’s ICU day nurse Lara for her warmth and diligence in caring for Ken, and partaking in the prayers of the “Last Rites Ceremony”. Her kindness will never be forgotten.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to Juravinski Hospital ICU would be greatly appreciated by the family.
