It Kathleen Ann Kristina McNally – of Kentville, NS, passed
unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Kathleen was born in Berwick, Nova Scotia on April 23, 1960.
She was predeceased by her parents, Louisa (McNally) Cooper, Murray
Atwater and her brother Dale Atwater.
Kathleen was a well-known and respected businesswoman in the
community. She was employed at Michelin in Waterville during the
construction startup, where she witnessed the first tire roll off the
assembly line, followed by an administrative role in maintenance.
Kathleen continued in her mother’s footsteps, taking
ownership and managing Valley Communications in Kentville, providing
safety and security through emergency services within the community
and surrounding area. From there, she spent many years managing
paramedical services at EMS in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, where she formed
long lasting relationships and friendships with many of her
colleagues. Through her great motivation and determination, she
obtained her bachelors degree in business at St Mary’s
University in Halifax Nova Scotia, while continuing to work full time
in her professional career on top of being a mother.
She is survived by her loving family and was a devoted
daughter to Bernie Cooper (Louisa) and Liz Atwater (Murray). She was
an inspirational mother to her children, daughter, Regina Papp and her
husband, James of Middleborough, Massachusetts and her son, Michael
McNally-Soucie and his partner, Wallace Lambert. She had a heart
filled with love and pride for her three granddaughters, Ella, Cecelia
and Sedona Lou. She will always be their fun, loving, and most caring
Mamae.
She enjoyed many trips down to Boston and out west to Calgary
Alberta to be with her family. She found tremendous joy and strength
in her relationship with her brother, Derek; her sister-in-law,
Chickie; her nephews, Brett and his fiancé, Naz and, Brady
and his fiancé, Jenna. She had many close cousins whom she
adored. She had a beloved pet companion, her American cocker spaniel,
Gracie, who she loved deeply.
Over the years, she made lifelong friends and treasured them
all, considering them family. She was a strong, independent and kind
woman with a zest for life and a great sense of humor. She will be
incredibly missed and always loved.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by
request. A funeral service (with a livestream) and reception will be
held at 3:00 pm on Monday. November 11, 2024 in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville, Father John MacPherson officiating. A private
family burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery,
Kentville.
