Karen Woon
It is with great sorrow that the family announces her sudden passing at home on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at the age of 80.
Loving mother of Shawn (Deanna), Kelly (Bill), Stephen and Scott (Michelle). Cherished grandmother of Jessica, Ariel, Trent, Kurtis, Joshua, Fredrick, Bradley and Jordan. Dear great-grandmother of Axton. She will be greatly missed by her siblings Judith, Susan, Linda (John), Garth (Nancy) and Gary (Cathy), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband John Michael Woon and by her parents Leo and Ethel Van Horne.
Karen loved her kids, grandchildren and animals. She was a very caring and selfless woman who demonstrated that throughout her 30+ years in nursing. She had a passion for gardening and spending time with family.
Respecting her wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of life will be held this summer. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. Remembrance donations to the Timmins Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
