Obituary for Karen Jean Izzo (nee Ferguson)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Jean Izzo (née Ferguson) of Beamsville, Ontario, on Saturday, October 5. Born on September 21, 1952, to Walter and Barbara (née Snyder) Ferguson of Alberton, Ontario, Karen brought joy and love to all who knew her.
In 1987, she married her beloved husband, Ralph Izzo, and together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. Known for her resilient spirit and unwavering determination, Karen was a steadfast source of support for her family and friends. Her infectious laughter and generous heart brightened the lives of everyone around her.
A former Ancaster Fair Queen, passionate baker, avid card player, and loyal baseball fan, Karen was always seeking new adventures with her loved ones. Recently, she expressed her love for baking by writing a cookbook to share her treasured recipes.
Karen’s absence will be deeply felt by her family and the countless friends whose lives she touched. She is survived by her siblings, Mary Lou Ciancone, Murray Ferguson (Anne), and Lloyd Ferguson; her father-in-law, Arnaldo Izzo; and cherished in-laws Sylvia (Tony), Rita (Jeff), Tony, Connie, Maria, Carmela (Tony), Antoinette (Joe), and Anna (Ishti), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold her memory close. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Anna Izzo, brother-in-law, Ron Ciancone, and sister-in-law, Martha Ferguson. A special thank you to her dear friend Karen Lewis for her endless love and support, as well as to Dr. Robert Clayden and Mary from the Walker Family Cancer Clinic.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tallman Funeral Homes (Vineland). A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 308 Lake Street, Grimsby, followed by a luncheon. All are warmly invited to join in honoring the life of this remarkable woman. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be available via Zoom (ID: 838 2567 2961, password: 191412).
A celebration of Karen’s life will take place on October 27th, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at Spencer’s at the Waterfront, 1340 Lakeshore Road, Burlington. All are invited to attend and celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman.
