Julie Ann April (Menson) Anderson, resident of Brainerd MN, passed away peacefully on August 21 with her family by her side. Traditional Services will be held at Eternal Grace Funerals, Winnipeg MB, on Wednesday September 4th from 9:30 am with interment at Brookside Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.. A wake will be held on Tuesday September 3rd from 5 p.m. to 12 midnight at Eternal Grace Funerals.
Julie Ann April Anderson was born on April 3, 1987, at Women’s Hospital in Winnipeg to Alvin North and Darlene Menson. Julie grew up in Winnipeg where she attended school and graduated from St. John’s High School, she lived in Canada for short period of time then decided to move to the United States with her daughter Nadelyn.
Julie was always focused on her education, she had pursued her business degree and graduated from Central Lakes College in Brainerd MN. She started exploring her career and different workplaces, but her passion was for working and helping families. Julie mentioned her favorite workplace was being a case manager at the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. She met her husband Stephen Anderson in December of 2018, and they were married on January 22, 2023. She lived in Brainerd MN with him and her daughter Nadelyn Peterson, and stepsons James, Jonathan, and Jadyn Anderson.
Julie was adventurous, she enjoyed her time outside camping, hiking, boating, she loved to cook and bake, she liked to sing, dance, play video and board games, plus many other activities. She also enjoyed her frequent trips to the casino with her husband, family, and many friends. Most of all Julie enjoyed travelling, she travelled all over the United States, her favorite trips were to Florida with family and her trip to the Grand Canyon. Her most recent trip she took her daughter on a trip of a lifetime to Paris, France.
Julie is survived by her husband, Stephen Anderson; her daughter Nadelyn Peterson; her parents Alvin North and Darlene Menson, her siblings Shantelle Menson, Samantha North and Tristan Taylor; her nieces and nephews, Brayden, Alexis, Dekohta, Aubrey, Grayson, and Blair, her stepsons James, Jonathan, and Jadyn Anderson, her many relatives from Cross Lake and Seine River First Nation, and her close friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
Julie is predeceased by grandparents James and Mary Menson, Thelma North ,Aunts-Priscilla Menson, Tracy Windego, Sophia North Lorraine North, Bertha Mason ,Uncle-Joe Menson,cousins; Charlotte and Patrick Menson, Mikey Hart, Jennifer and Jessica Perrault, Thre Windego, Lennox Menson, Eltina Ross, Ario North, pallbearers; Brayden Menson, Eric Perrault, Burton Halcrow, Derwin North, Denny Scott, and Dale McLean.
