Obituary
CHASE, Julia Lyndora – 97, of South Side, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth. Born on The Hawk, August 30, 1926 she was a daughter of the late Hirtle and Irma (Townsend) Smith. In Julia’s younger years she worked in Berwick at Graves Company and made many great friends that she kept in contact with for many years. She also worked to Sable Fish Packers. She enjoyed writing poems which led to one of them even being published. Cooking was a real passion for her, having spent countless hours doing so. She never turned anyone away and there was a hot meal to be had in her home. Julia is survived by her children, Lyndora (Roger Smith), Angela (Don Zwicker), Sylvia, Geraldine (Lawrence Matthews), Conrad (Carolee), David, Larry, Lilly (Clyde Snook); as well as 70 grand and great-grandchildren, plus one on the way. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Chase; daughter, Marcella; and grandson, Clifton. The family would like to take this time to thank the many doctors that Julia had over the years, VON, Continuing Care, and Bay Side Home for their care and compassion. There will be a visitation held, Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington. There will be a private family graveside to follow in the White Lily Cemetery, South Side. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the White Lily Cemetery, South Side, or the Evergreen Cemetery, The Hawk.
