KOEBEL, Judy Anne
April 2, 1948 – January 28, 2023
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mom, grandma and sister, Judy Anne Koebel (nee Linseman) at the age of 73, on Saturday, January 28, 2023, after a courageous, year-long battle with leukemia.
Judy was born on April 2, 1948 in Listowel. She met the love of her life, Ron, as teenagers at a dance in Hesson, and they were married on November 23, 1968. They have lived in Linwood ever since.
Judy is survived by her husband Ron, her two daughters, Michelle (Peter) Beynon and Melissa (Randy) Wagner, as well as her four grandchildren, Brittany, Emily, Nick and Josh. She is lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters Joanne (Robert) Thaler, David (Cathy) Linseman, Derril (Marie) Linseman, Nancy (Donny) Miller, Jeff Linseman, Jeanette (Gerry) Nugent, and Val (Greg) Quehl. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Judy is predeceased by her parents Gerald and Verna (Moser) Linseman.
Thank you to all of the medical professionals who looked after Judy during her time of illness – Dr. Stevens and Dr. Martin, Corina Gebauer (Nurse Practitioner) and all of the kind, caring nurses at Grand River Hospital, 6th floor. Also, to Dr. Walker and staff at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton.
Judy was the model of strength, courage, grace and dignity and always had a positive outlook on life. She loved reading, travelling the world with Ron, spending winters in Florida, relaxing on the beach, and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, 19 Flamingo Dr., Elmira. Reception to follow. Interment will take place at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Blood Services, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada would be appreciated, and may be made through the funeral home. In honour of Judy, consider becoming a blood donor or joining the stem cell registry at Canadian Blood Services.
