Obituary
On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, Judith (Judy) Ann Capancini née Furik passed away peacefully at the young age of 72 at
Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She received her wings and walked away with angels.
Born in Toronto, but lived most of her life in Mississauga. Judy was a very involved and loving mother and a proud grandmother. Judy was a medical secretary before having a daughter and staying home to take care of her, all while being very involved with volunteering for her daughter’s schools and Girl Guides. She was a strong and spunky woman with a great sense of humour. She loved being involved in all activities, live entertainment, and doing arts and crafts. She did all this despite having to bravely battle a number of health and medical conditions which challenged her throughout her life.
Judy is survived by her daughter Laura van Arragon (Trevor), granddaughters Keira and Kaelyn, brother Ron (Chris McAdam), nieces and nephews Ryne, Lindsey, Lauren, and Marina, sister-in-law Helen, and Laura’s father, Wayne.
Predeceased by her father Stephen, mother Vilma (Hanes), first husband Bill Weiss, and nephew Kyle.
A memorial visitation will be held at McKerise & Early Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E., Milton 905-878-4452 on
Wednesday August 30, 2023 from 5 – 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
