1946-2023
Judith «Karen» Holmstrom, 77, passed away
peacefully at the home of her beloved brother and his wife, Stephen
& Elaine’s in Hopewell Hill on April 22nd, 2023. She
was born in Norton, NB on January 11th, 1946 the daughter of the late
Ernest John and Kathleen Calhoun (Harper) Holmstrom. Karen
returned to Hopewell Hill in 2005 where she had been raised, after the
death of her mother in Cawston, British
Columbia.
Karen was well liked by everyone and lived a very full
life. She was a very kind, gentle person who was always
happy and very content. She had a special place in her heart
for animals. She had been going to the Albert Career
Development Center in Hopewell Hill for many years and enjoyed it very
much. She always loved playing games, especially BINGO and
dancing, going on outings and celebrating any and every
occasion. Her friends and the staff were her extended
family. She enjoyed listening to her country music while
doing puzzles and had a large collection of stuffed animals
that she loved. She was also an ardent hockey fan, cheering
for the New York Rangers. Karen will be remembered for her
great smile and was a real blessing to all those who knew
her.
She passed away holding Elaine’s hand as she went to be with
her Lord & Saviour. She was a very special lady who
will never be forgotten.
She will be deeply missed by her brothers, Stephen (Elaine)
of Hopewell Hill, Michael (Geri) of Langley, BC, Brian (Joyce) of
Edmonton, AB and Patrick of Riverview; sisters, Linda Knowlton (Lloyd)
of Lower Coverdale and Ellen Jacobson (Arnie) of Turtle Lake,
SK. She will also be missed by her special nephew and his
family, Chris, his wife Mindy and their children Jade, Tyler and
Danaleigh; several nieces, nephews and her many good
friends.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by an infant
sister, Patricia Susan and brother-in-law, Henry
Martin.
The family invites you to join them for a time of visitation
to celebrate Karen’s life by sharing memories at the Albert County
Funeral Home on Saturday, April 29th, 2023 from 2-4pm.
Interment will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB at
a later date.
Donations to the Albert Career Development Center / Caledonia
Activity Place would be greatly appreciated by the
family.
