Josephine Redhead-King Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Josephine Eliza Redhead King She made her journey home peacefully to the spirt world on January 7th 2024 surrounded by her children and loved ones. We want to express our gratitude and thanks to the nurses and Doctors that cared for her during this time.
Josie was born in Churchill Mb, on January 14th 1967 & was a proud member of Fox Lake Cree Nation. She moved to Winnipeg when she was a teenager and her family followed her down here. She became a mom at the age of 18 to her first born daughter Camille. When she was 25, she had her second daughter Keri-Lynn. She meet her husband Terry King, & they were married July 27th 1996. In her 30’s she had her one and only son, Robert. Her three children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Everything she did, she did her best for them.
Mom wore many hats over the years, She worked at the Humane Society as the receptionist. She had deep passion for animals. She graduated from Urban Circle Health Care Aide/ Unit Clerk Program, where she worked at HSC for a little while. She also loved volunteering & cooking for the community.
Josie is so loved by so many people because of her big heart, and she always made people feel included, no matter their walk in life. She’s the type of person who would always stop, and speak up for what was right. Our mother’s strong, beautiful resilient spirt will live on within her children and grandchildren.
She loved being a grandmother. She has 10 grandchildren, she was a very loving and very protective of each and every one of them. Her granddaughter Ariella gave her the nickname “ GiGi”. Those two were best buddies
She was pre deceased by her Mom and Dad. Kathleen Munro (Redhead) Robert McGivillary Her grandparent’s, numerous uncles and aunties, her special auntie who more like her soul sister, Marianna Redhead, & her dear friend Anne.
She is survived by her children, Camille Munro ( Kierra, Leland, Yazmin, & Chael) Keri-Lynn Redhead ( AJ, Ariella, Aaron & Amelia) Robert King ( Jacob, & Raine) Her brother and sister, Reil Munro ( Joanne) Donna Lee Munro ( Terry) and many nieces and nephews, beloved aunties & cousins, & her best friend Kim Houle.
“She was our guardian in life and is now an Angel by your side. Losing someone so special is truly one of the deepest heartaches one can bear. Remember that, those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near. So loved, so missed, and very dear. Till memories fail and life departs. She will live on forever in our hearts “

Wake service for Josie will be held on Sunday January 21, 2024 from 2pm-8pm at Eternal Grace Funerals.
