Peacefully, with courage and dignity on Sunday, January 7, 2023. Devoted husband of the late Rochelle. Life member of the Order of Accountants of Quebec. Second youngest of twelve siblings, an avid sports fan, golfer and supporter of his extended family. Loving father of Karen Levitt and David Kelly, Jeffrey Levitt and Venetia Eisenhauer. Adored Zaidie of Jacob and Sean Kelly, Nicholas Mathé and Jamie Levitt. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Bella and the late Wilf Yaphe, Aaron Levitt, Monique and the late Sydney Levitt, the late Larry and the late Thelma Levitt, the late Lillian and the late Donald Voronoff, the late Matthew and the late Victoria Levitt, the late Esther and the late Sam Yellin, the late Morton and the late Rebecca Levitt, the late Simon and the late Eleanor Levitt, the late Molly and the late Martin Daneman, and the late Morris Levitt; and brother-in-law of Ritze and Ted Baker, Bill and the late Phyllis Cleiman, and Jack Cleiman. Joe will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Thank you to his caregivers, Ophelia, Aurelia and Dorothy who supported Joe and his family for many years. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, January 11 at 12:00 p.m. Burial at the Beth-El Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at 5680 Rembrandt Ave., Côte Saint-Luc, Thursday following burial until 8:00 p.m., Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and from Sunday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Contributions in Joe’s memory may be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.
