In Loving Memory of Joseph Cecil Marchand
Joseph Cecil Marchand, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle, passed away on January 15, 2024 at 82. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Born on September 24, 1941, Cecil was a beacon of light and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was born to Joseph Godfrey and Alice Genevieve Marchand, and from an early age, it was evident that Cecil possessed a remarkable love for his family that would shape his life.
Cecil was known for his unwavering commitment to his beloved family. Whether he was fishing, playing darts, cheering on the Montreal Canadiens, or contributing to the community, Cecil approached life with dedication and enthusiasm, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those around him.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Carol Lynne, his adored children Deborah (Scott), Pamela, and Jason (Jasmine); his grandchildren Heather, Elizabeth (Liam), Evander, Alexander, Brooklynne; and his beloved sister Marlene, who will forever cherish the memories of his kindness, wisdom, and love. Cecil is also remembered by his numerous friends and colleagues as someone with kindness, compassion, and a fabulous sense of humour.
A mass and internment service to celebrate the life of Joseph Cecil Marchand will be at a later date, at St. Joseph’s Parish in Petit De Grat, NS. Friends and family are invited to join and share their memories of a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Deaf Access Simcoe (a cause that Cecil was a strong part of) or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
May Cecil rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who knew him. The world has lost a remarkable soul, but his legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched.
