John’s Obituary
John Howick, of Peace River, Alberta, passed away on November 12, 2024, at Peace River Community Health Centre, at the age of 81. Born in Fort Macleod, Alberta, on June 5, 1943, John lived in various places throughout his childhood and as an adult before moving his family to Peace River in 1980. He worked as a Grocery Merchandiser for IGA and Stedmans. John was very involved with Minor Hockey and the Stampeders NPHL Hockey Club for many years, always helping where he could. He loved his family dearly, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren.
John is predeceased by his parents Reverend A. Fred Howick & Madeline (Truin); brother-in-law Charles Lupton; and, nephew Roger Lupton. He is survived by his children Corrine (Bruce) of Peace River, John (Carolyn) of Midland (Texas), Ken (Jodi) of Edmonton (AB); grandchildren Stacie (Kyle), Christopher (Megan) and Mikayla; great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Alaina and *baby Scott (due in March 2025).
A Celebration of Life will be held from Nampa Gospel Fellowship on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Sandford officiating.
Reception to follow in the lower hall.
