It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Withall on November 24, 2024 at the age of 79. John was born on Feb 23, 1945 in Portsmouth, England to Edwin and Edith (nee Bond) Withall.
John met the love of his life and beloved wife Linda Faithfull with who he spent 57 wonderful years.
John and Linda are devout members of Hope Bible Church, Oakville, Ontario.
Predeceased by his father and mother, Edwin and Edith Withall.
John is survived by wife Linda, sons Peter, Mark, and Philip. daughters-in-law Catherine, Liz, and Elizabeth, grandchildren Christopher, Rebecca, Brandon, Erica and James, and sister Margaret and family in England.
John served as an electrician in Portsmouth Dockyard, England before immigrating to Canada shortly after marrying in 1967. He joined CN Rail as an electrician and transferred to Go Transit on its start up, becoming Electrical Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement.
Many thanks go out to the wonderfully considerate and loving care provided by Dr. Duan and nurses at St. Joseph’s I.C.U. Department.
There will be service celebrating John’s life on December 5th at 2 p.m. at Hope Bible Church, 500 Great Lakes Blvd, Oakville, Ontario. The family welcomes you to join us in a remembrance reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hope Bible Church or St. Joseph’s Hospital 3 wishes project (Hamilton).
