John died peacefully in his home on Good Friday morning, March 29, 2024. John Downing of Alexandria; age 83 years. Loving husband of 51 years to Carol Ann Downing (nee Disney) [2015]. Loving father of Craig Downing (Elizabeth) of Ottawa, and Gavin Downing (Nicole) of Toronto. Cherished grandfather of Sofia, Leopold, and Emarette. Predeceased by his parents Jean Robertson and John Downing. Survived by his brother Malcolm Downing (Ann). At John’s request there will no visitation or Funeral. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to John a tree will be planted in a memory woods.
