John Cameron Monteith Obituary
John Cameron Monteith, a long-time resident of High River, passed away at the South Health Campus, Calgary on December 9, 2024, at the age of 78 years. John will be dearly missed by his children; Greg (Cristy) Monteith of High River, Jennifer Monteith of Calgary, Calyn (Yolanda) Watson of Blackie, Chad (Hayley) Watson of High River, and Cole Watson (Melissa) of High River. His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren; Paige, Brooke and Rhylee Monteith, Avery and Ashtyn Watson, Eliah Watson. John is also survived by siblings; Dorothy (Richard) Pilbeam, Bill (Eileen), Harold (Jeanette) and close friend Donna Tanner.
John was born to Andy and Bertha at Kindersley, Saskatchewan on June 8th, 1946, and was raised on the family farm at D’Arcy Saskatchewan which he spoke often of. He later moved to Alberta to start his life with Joyce. Soon after they moved to Inuvik where they started their family, and made many memories and lifelong friends. He then moved his family Dewinton where he found his passion for driving horses and started the dealership Twin Tractor with his twin brother Bill. He later moved to High River and returned to his farming roots where he spent his life doing what he loved.
He was predeceased by his first wife Joyce in 2000 and his second wife Debbie Watson in 2018.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, 301 Macleod Trail, High River, on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
