It is with profound sadness that the Houweling family announces the passing of their mother Johanna Houweling who passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Wednesday June 26, 2024 at the age of 88. Johanna was the loving wife of the late Peter Houweling (2002) and the late Cor Bakker (2012). Loving mother of the late Anthony Houweling, Rick (Pam) Houweling, Ken Houweling, Rob (Sandra) Houweling, Carol (Terry) Pepper, late Don (surviving Madeline) Houweling, Lisa (Dave) Robert, Chris (Melissa) Houweling, and Peter (Angele) Houweling. Johanna was the loving and spoiling grandmother of many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Daughter of the late John and Gradda Onland and sister of many siblings. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Johanna will be remembered by her loving gentle spirit towards her family, raising 9 children, meeting the needs of others through her wonderful cooking, canning, sewing, knitting, crocheting and enjoying her many trips to see family in Holland. A funeral service will be held at the Blenheim Christian Reformed Church on Friday June 28, 2024 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery to follow the service. Donations made in memory of Johanna to the Blenheim Medical Health Hub or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
