Joan (Myers) Wall
July 2, 1936 – September 27, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we the family of Joan Wall announce her peaceful passing at 88
years of age, on Friday, September 27th,2024, at the Cove Guest Home, Sydney, NS.
Born on July 2nd, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lavenia (Hagell) and Cyrus Myers.
Joan is lovingly remembered by her sons, Shaun (Patricia), Faroun, Paul (Coleen) Young; her
stepchildren, Betty, Larry (Valerie), Jim(Chris), Stella, Mary ; 6 grandchildren, 19 step grandchildren
and 36 great grandchildren. Mom also leaves behind her brother Bob (Mary) Myers and her sister Cathy Postlewaite.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Albert “Pat” Wall, her brother Darryel Postlewaite and
stepchildren John, Joey, Roddie Wall and Patricia Frewer.
Mom will be dearly missed by her friends at the senior’s complex, MacAulays Lane, Sydney, Seaview
Manor, Glace Bay and the Cove Guest Home in Sydney.
Joan worked in retail all her life. The longest run was at Kmart for 27 years. She loved meeting new
friends throughout her career. She volunteered with “Meals On Wheels” and was an active member
of St. Theresa’s CWL. Meeting people she thrived at BUT her true love in life was her family which
she loved dearly and held close to her heart.
We wish to extend a special Thank You to the staff at The Cove Guest Home for their
professionalism, care and compassion they showed “mom” during her short stay.
To her former caregivers (you know who you are), she loved you and appreciated your daily
companionships.
Mom will be missed by her friends from “The Pier Dear Ladies “, The Old Sydney Society “Tea
Ladies” and her good friends Theresa Taylor, Dawn Young, Helen Aitkens and Marlene MacDonald.
Keeping Moms wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later
date.
In Lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
