Obituary
Joan Marie Veldman, age 63 of Tavistock, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Born in Stratford to Bill and Elaine MacMillan of Wellesley. Predeceased by her husband Jim and his parents Andy and Mary Veldman.
Proud, wonderful mother to Jason (Catina Biddle) Veldman and Justin Veldman. Grandma to Cody and Kaleb Biddle. Nana to Lillian and Charlotte Biddle. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Steve (Sandy) MacMillan and Beth (Chirp) Rose, her in-laws Steve (Carol) Veldman, Mary-Ellen (Jim) Zegers, Dan Veldman, sister-in-law Glynis Rempel and her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Joan was an accomplished writer and performer and she recently also became a great hypnotherapist. She was incredibly creative, imaginative, immensely entertaining and she loved the sound of genuine laughter. She lit up every room she entered, and her warm smile, laughter and amazing hugs will be missed by all who knew her.
In keeping with Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on July 22, 2023 at the Tavistock Men’s Hall, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock from 1-6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation-Medicine Unit through W G Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
