We, the family of Joan Noreen Cameron, regret to announce her passing on Friday, September 27, 2024, in Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.
Born May 7, 1924, in Charlottetown, PEI, she was a daughter of the late William and Nina (Hicks) Cameron.
Nanny Joan celebrated her 100th birthday with a family party.
She dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren and great–grandchildren; Nanny Joan was deeply loved by all.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Brian) Jennex; sons, David and Carl (Cindy Innes); grandchildren, Danielle (Bertram) Blake, Liana (Cliff) Gaetz, Amanda Cameron (Adam MacNeil) and Christopher Cameron; great-grandchildren, Takara and David Blake and Roughan and Rhys Gaetz, Cameron and Finley MacNeil. She is also survived by sister, Flora Paynter and special family member Glena Cameron.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Milburn; son, Norman; daughter-in-law Mary Munson; and sisters, Anne Gillis, Marion Jorgenson, Dorothy Hoy, Betty Moore and Nina Pickering; and brothers, Ralph, Alec, Keith and William.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held in Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 4th at 11 a.m. with Mr. Gary Grant officiating. A reception will follow the service. Burial will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
