Obituary of Jimmy Fordham
On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at London Health Sciences Centre – University Campus, Donald James “Jimmy” Fordham of London passed away at age 71.
He is survived by his siblings Nancy DePutter (John), Ron Fordham (Jackie), Krista Fordham (Kerry Cooper) and Donna Anderson (Derek). Each will cherish tender memories of time spent with Jimmy. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, grand-nephews/nieces and cousins, whose company gave him great joy.
Jimmy previously lost his sister, Cindy Lyons (2017) of London, and his parents, Don (2001) and Joanne (2015 – nee Schnekenburger) Fordham, who lived in Rodney for most of their lives.
Jimmy lived at Participation House in London for the past 23 years. He leaves behind his group home family, including his fellow residents and many loving and caring support workers, all of whom are grieving this loss.
The support and guidance of his group home leaders allowed Jimmy to thrive and engage with the world. For this, his brother and sisters are deeply grateful. Participation House will be a much quieter place without him.
While maintaining the innocence of a child, Jimmy exuded empathy and love for others. He had a simple, pure zest for life. With his own personal brand of humour, Jimmy elicited countless smiles from family, friends and strangers.
We are all sad to say goodbye and will miss him greatly.
A Private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Parish in West Lorne, with interment to follow.
