It is with great sadness the family of Jessie Maureen Butler (Boone) share news of her sudden passing at the age of 58, on December 24, 2023. Those lucky enough to know her will remember a funny, caring, kind and giving woman. She was a loving aunt, sister, a dedicated partner and friend.
Jessie was predeceased by her parents Eric and Mary Boone; in-laws Michael and Josephine Butler; sisters Alice Moores and Ruby Boone; brothers Tony and Randy Boone; and husband Kevin Butler. She will lovingly be remembered by her boyfriend Barry Tatchell; her ‘boy’ Noah Butler; sisters, Gloria Butler (Ed), Rita Hart, Lillian Boone (Jeff); brothers, James Woolridge, Gordon Woolridge (Eileen), John Boone (Fran), Andrew Boone (Dorothy), Ricky Boone (Penny), David Boone (Lisa), and Darrin Boone (Nancy); in-laws, Alonzo, Owen and Michael Butler; many nieces and nephews; and a large circle of friends.
Jessie was born in Botwood in 1965 and lived in Cottrell’s Cove and Fortune Harbour for most of her life. In her younger years, Jessie loved skidoo rides, fishing and time at the camper in Leading Tickles. She loved children, was the best babysitter and spent many years caring for her nieces and nephews. Jessie was her happiest in her kitchen listening to homebrew while cooking and baking up a storm. She loved to prepare large meals and invite everyone in to share. In recent years, Jessie loved to play games, watch church services and talk to friends and family, near and far. For many, barely a day went by without a phone call from Jessie. Her presence will be dearly missed.
