Jena Dillman
Jena Dillman age 39 passed away unexpectedly at her parents home at Indian Point, Nova Scotia on December 30th, 2023. She was surrounded by her devoted and loving parents, Ronald and Premila Dillman and her partner Andrew Smid.
Jena is survived by her daughter, Miilah Gordon Dillman age 15, who lives in British Columbia; parents, Premila and Ronald Dillman; sister, Melonie Dillman- Shannon; brothers, David Mason and Justin Dillman; Aunty to Micah Dillman, Aaliyah Dillman and Lucca Shannon.
Jena was born on September 19th, 1984, in Vancouver BC and graduated from Sir John A MacDonald high school in Nova Scotia. After graduation she moved to BC to study broadcasting at Media Performing Arts, Columbia Academy, Vancouver, BC. Jena spent her childhood growing up in different parts of BC from Aldergrove to Enderby and then Kamloops before moving to the other coast with her family to where her father grew up in St. Margarets Bay, Nova Scotia where her parents live to this day.
Jena was a free spirit, she lived much of her adult life in Western Canada or travelling from Coast to Coast. She loved spending time with her cousins and wherever she was, her friends became her family. She had a lot of love to give to whoever was in her midst and was a bright light whenever she walked into a room.
Jena struggled for many years with the strongholds of addiction and fought for her life constantly. Despite the many trials and traumas she experienced Jena was an eternal optimist and had constant plans and dreams for her life and future with her daughter Miilah.
Just in the last week of her life, Jena felt a strong need to return to Nova Scotia after spending Christmas with her daughter. She felt a pull in her heart that she needed to get better so she could be better and take care of her parents.
We remember Jena for her energy, her big bright eyes, her laughter, and radiant smile. She knew how to dress like a queen and could turn rags into riches.
There was only one Jena Dawn Premila Dillman and she will live on in all of our hearts because of the way she touched those who crossed her path. Jena was our gypsy, our butterfly, and our angel.
A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Monday January 8th in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggys Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
