Jeanne Marie Koehle, affectionately known as “Jeannine,” passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 83. She was born on February 27, 1941, in Rossland, B.C., into a loving, close-knit family. Growing up, Jeanne shared many adventures with her twin brother Joseph, older brother Gerald, and baby sister Yvonne. Their bond was unbreakable, and they supported each other through every triumph and challenge.
After completing high school, Jeanne pursued her education at business college and began her career at Cominco in Trail, B.C. In 1966, she met Gerry on a blind date, and their connection led to a joyful marriage on October 8th of that same year. Together, they built a life in Nelson, B.C., where they raised their three daughters: Monique, Nadine, and Yvette.
During her daughters’ high school years, Jeanne returned to college to further her education, eventually becoming a legal secretary and court clerk, a role she was very proud of and held until her retirement in 2001. Throughout her life, Jeanne cherished her family, her bridge club, neighbors, coworkers, and her dear friends. She especially loved holidays and birthdays, making each celebration special, especially for her beloved grandchildren: Nathan, Nicholas, Adam, Sam, Kaylee, and Cole.
Survived by her loving daughters, Monique (Wayne) Tonogai, Nadine (Brian) Ross, and Yvette (Peter)Shukin, Jeanne also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren. Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband Gerry, by her parents, Yvonne and Joseph Couture, her twin brother, Joseph, her sister, Yvonne, her brother, Gerry, and sister-in-law Jan. She will be warmly remembered by her sister-in-law Sheila Couture, brother-in-law Bob Robbins, her amazing family, and all her dear friends.
She will be dearly missed by her extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jeanne’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched with her grace and compassion.
