Jean Roberta Syversen Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Syversen announce her passing on November 18, 2024, in Lethbridge, Alberta, at the age of 73.
Jean was born in Calgary on February 23, 1951, to Thomas Dubray, and was adopted at 6 years old by Benton and Cecile Murphy. She grew up in Cowley and attended school there. At the age of 18, Jean was finally reunited with her birth father, Thomas . In 1968, she met and married Fred Syversen and gave birth to their son, Grant, in 1971. Jean lived and worked in the Calgary area, moving to Pincher Creek in 1989 to help with Jean’s adoptive mother, after her adoptive father, Benton, passed away in 1989.
Jean was an avid Calgary Flames fan and enjoyed doing puzzles and crosswords in her spare time.
Jean is survived by her son Grant (Angela) Syversen, their two children, Nolan and Kiera, and siblings Tommy and Terry.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Fred Syversen, her adoptive parents Benton and Cecile Murphy, and birth father Thomas Dubray.
Cremation entrusted to Snodgrass Funeral Homes Pincher Creek Chapel.
