It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jean
Robert Levasseur at Fredericton Hospice on November 1, 2024 at the age
of 86. Born in Edmunston, NB, he was a son of the late Napoleon
Levasseur and Anne (Beaulieu) Couturier. Jean spent his working years
as a civil servant at the Department of Finance with the Province of
New Brunswick. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, achieving
the 4th degree. Jean loved his family and
always put them first. He was a proud Brayon who loved gardening,
watching and reading the news and old war movies.
He is survived by his loving wife Marie-Jeanne (nee: Bujold)
Levasseur; his two daughters Diane (Sylvain) Hénault of
Fredericton, Monique (Terrence) McCallum of Saint John; a
granddaughter Mélanie (Daniel) McKenna of Fredericton; a
great grandson Dominick. He was the last member of his immediate
family.
Please no visitation by request. A private family service
will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home with interment to
follow. For those who wish, in Jean’s memory, donations to
the Kidney Foundation or Hospice Fredericton would be appreciated by
the family.
