Jean Merina Morrisey
1946-2024
Jean Merina Morrisey, 78, of Forestdale Home in
Riverside-Albert NB, and formerly of Albert NB, passed away on
September 5, 2024. She was born in Moncton, NB on August 25,
1946, daughter of the late Gladys & Walter
Sherwood.
Jean spent the majority of her working years employed
at Moncton City Hospital, first in laundry services, then
the Materials Management department, from which she
retired. She spent a few years as well, as part of the
kitchen staff at the Albert County Hospital before it became the
Health and Wellness Center. Jean considered herself a
mother, & later a grandmother, first and
foremost. She was a devoted caregiver, a beautiful cook
& baker, & her love of home was nurtured by filling
the bellies of those she loved most. A meal served by mom
was a joy in itself.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Marshall Herman
Morrisey, 2 sisters Betty and Cheryl, and a brother,
Lee.
Jean is
survived by her daughter Rikki Keirstead (Jeff), & son Walter
Morrisey (Tammie), all of Caledonia Mountain Road. She
leaves behind her adored grandchildren Mackenzie Keirstead (Heidi),
Wyatt Keirstead (Jessica), Grayson Keirstead (Emma), &
Marshall Morrisey. As well, one great grandson, Arthur
Keirstead. Jean is also survived by 8 siblings, Harriette,
Patricia, Gladys, Crystal, Allison, Jack, Wayne &
Richard.
Although
Jean’s last few months were difficult, her family would like
to acknowledge the care staff at Forestdale Home for their countless
kindnesses during her time there. You all made her days as fulfilled
as they could be with patience & understanding, & we
will be forever grateful that you cared for her when we could
not.

There will be no visitation or
funeral.
