Obituary of Jean Lucille Garneau
With saddened hearts, the family of Jean Garneau-Joyal (nee Russette) announce her passing on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the age of 91. Jean was born May 24, 1933. Beloved wife of the late Gaston Garneau (2007) and the late John Joyal (1981). Daughter of the late Arthur and Solange Russette. Mother of the late Ronald (2011), Betty Ann Baumgartner (Marvin) of Harrow, Paul Joyal, late Danny Joyal, Richard Joyal (Donna), Michael Joyal (Gail), Mary Jane Barsotta (John), and Kenny Joyal all of Windsor. Grandmother of 15, great grandmother of 23, and great great grandmother of two. Sister of the late Theresa (1985), late Lucille (2000), late Helen Rabishaw (2014), and late Pauline Russette (2015). Jean worked as a Red Cross Homemaker for 15 years, she also worked at Riverview and Malden Park Hospitals of 10 years. She was a South Windsor Lioness for 25 year. Jean was well known for her volunteer work. Family and friends will be received at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234) on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 5-8pm with parish prayers at 5:30pm. A funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (834 Raymo Rd.) on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11am. Cremation to follow. Donations in Jean’s memory can be made to Diabetes Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Second Chance Animal Rescue.
