Jean passed peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on January 4th. Pre-deceased by her husband, Alan Burbidge and her brother, Merle Gunby. Survived by her daughter, Melanie Vanderzwet (Mike), her son, Mark Burbidge (Louise), her surviving siblings; Joyce, Linda, Steven (Pat), and her sister-in-law, Sheila. Lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren; Rachel, Michele, Nicholas, Zachary, Benjamin, Mackenzie, and Emily. Loving Gigi to her four great grandchildren; Eloise, Grant, Quinn, and Miles. Jean was cherished by her two god children, Rebecca and Rachel. Loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jean had a deep connection to the stars and often knew what was happening in the skies. She had a love for books and was an author of three books herself. She was a naturalist to the core and was a big supporter of C.O.G. Jean loved her gardens and birds. She was an avid garlic grower and a true bluebird whisperer, fostering generations from her two backyard houses. She provided endless family bonds and memories by purchasing our family cottage at Long Point over 20 years ago. We are forever grateful to her for that. Special thank you to Linda, Karin and Keri for helping mom make her final journey to dad.
Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are welcome to attend a celebration of Jean’s life at her home, 4 Broad Street, Fonthill, Ontario on Sunday, January 8th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m
