DAINARD, Jean (née Meek) – August 18, 1935 – December 3, 2023 ~ Entered into rest at the Ian Anderson House Hospice, Oakville, on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Jean in her 89th year, was the beloved wife of John Dainard (2019). Loving Mom to Steve, and Rick (Ruth). Cherished Nanny to Tina (Chris), Julianne (Jason), and Stephanie (Matt). Great-Nanny to Alyssa, Jessica, Chad, Liam, Logan, Dylan, Bryson, and Brooklyn. Great-Great Nanny to Kylie. Dear sister to Ken Meek (Marion), and predeceased by Dave Meek (survived by Noreen), Trevor Meek (survived by Syl), and Dennis Meek. Jean will be missed by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Jean and John led a simple life together, they enjoyed camping and trailering. She had a huge positive impact on her local community through extensive volunteer work with various charities. Jean was a true “family and friends first” person that cared for others ahead of herself.
A visitation will take place at the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay on Wednesday, December 6thfrom 6:00-8:00pm, and on Thursday, December 7th from 1:00pm until time of funeral service in the chapel at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, which would be appreciated by the family.
