Jean Audrey Brimmell (nee Bingham),
Resident of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away peacefully May 30, 2023, at the Ottawa General Hospital, aged 99.
Jean is missed by her son Clifford, daughter-in-law Denise Losier, her grandchildren Jesse (Talia) and Blair Brimmell(Andrew MacInnis) and her great grandchildren, Adrian, Diana, and Clifford MacInnis, and Madeleine and Thea Brimmell, all of Ottawa. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Colonel William John “Jack” Bingham and Olive Josephine Park, and her brothers Clifford and William “Billy”.
Born in Miami, Manitoba, she lived many places before settling in Ottawa in the 1970’s. Jean was a bright presence in her Ottawa Centretown community. A member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Jean taught Sunday school and served as an elder for many years. She was a member of the Larrimac Golf Club in Chelsea, Quebec until well into her nineties.
There will be a memorial service for Jean at Knox Presbyterian Church, 120 Lisgar St, Ottawa, on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Knox Presbyterian Church, Ottawa (knoxottawa.ca), or any charity of your choice.
Special thanks to the staff of the Ottawa General Hospital for treating Jean with gentleness and respect in her last weeks and to the staff of Oak Park Retirement Community, where she resided since 2018.
