October 25, 1935 – April 14, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Gregor, a long-time resident of Drayton Valley. Janet passed away peacefully at Grey Nuns Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the age of 88 years.
Family meant everything to Janet, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, receiving her unconditional love and devotion. While she was a private person by nature, Janet found joy in hosting large family dinners and cherished moments spent with her sisters. In her leisure time, she found solace and contentment in tending to her garden, nurturing the beauty of nature around her. Janet’s legacy of love, family bonds, and her passion for gardening will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Janet will forever be lovingly remembered by her children, Lee Gregor, Kelly (David) Forster and Kim (Les) Ollenberg; grandchildren, Melissa (Micah) Smet, Cody Ollenberg (Miranda Benoit) and Kyle Ollenberg (Kenzie Gallant); great-grandchildren, Kinsleigh and Kennedy; siblings, Rita Clare, Judy Goodkey, William (Patt) Armstrong and Gary (Gina) Armstrong; sister-in-law, Alfeda Gregor, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Janet was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Donald; parents, Maxine and Thomas Armstrong and brothers, Pat and Bud Armstrong.
For those who so desire, memorial contributions in Janet’s name may be made directly to Warming Hearts, an organization in which she always was a great supporter of.
Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and all care staff at both Drayton Valley and Grey Nuns Hospitals – the care and compassion provided to Janet throughout the years was always greatly appreciated.
Following cremation, a private family graveside service will be held.
