Obituary
Jane Edith Goddard (Pinch, Kelly) passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on April 16, 2023, at the Pincher Creek Hospital. Jane fought a courageous battle against Pulmonary Fibrosis and Lung Cancer.
Jane was born in Ottawa, Ontario on December 10, 1945, to Norman and Eleanor Kelly. Her family moved around the Ottawa Valley in Ontario and lived in Palmer Rapids, Sudbury, Renfrew and Combermere. She married Peter Pinch in Combermere, Ontario on October 16, 1969. Jane and Peter had four children David, Nicole, Greg, and Kelly and lived in Alliston, Ontario. She relocated to St. Albert, Alberta in the late 80s. and met Peirs Goddard then relocated to Calgary, Alberta and got married on February 14, 1995, in Calgary. Jane and Peirs then moved to Pincher Creek in the 2000s and remained in Pincher Creek until her passing. Jane was an active community member in both Pincher Creek and Piikani Nation. She was a strong advocate for mothers struggling with addiction and making sure their voices were heard. Jane changed the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all.
Jane was predeceased by her husband Peirs, her son David, her sister Joanne, her mother Eleanor, and her father Norman.
Jane leaves behind her sister Judith Kelly of Golden Lake, Ontario her brother William Kelly of Robb, Alberta, her Children Greg Pinch (Coquitlam, British Columbia, Nicole Pinch (Toronto, Ontario), Kelly Lepine (Pincher Creek, Alberta and her Grandchildren Colin, Chase, Jude, Sasha, Olive, Sonny, and Oscar.
A Wake Service will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, Brocket, Alberta, on Friday, April 28, from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, Brocket, Alberta on Saturday, April 29, at 1:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Twin Butte Country General Store, on Saturday, May 6, at 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Piikani Food Bank where Jane was an active board member.
