It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Styles announce his passing on Tuesday, April 11th, 2023, at the age of 85, at Dr. Charles Legrow Health Center, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Rose Blanche, James was the son of the late Samuel Sr. and Agnes Styles.
James will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Martha Styles, his children, Jacqueline (Garland) Stone, Ruby Porter, and Donnie (Penny) Styles, grandchildren Sarah (Jason), Shannon (Shane), Justin (Kimmy), Jessica (Dylan), Jeffrey (Paige), Jonathan (Crystal), and Savannah, great grandchildren, Caleb, Olivia, Ayden, Avery, Aaron, Colton, Myla, and Levi. James was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He also leaves to mourn brothers and sisters in law, Johnny Munden, Arthur (Dianna) Munden, Susie (Norman) Seymour, Harry (Tammy) Munden, Albert (Lena) Munden, Wilfred (Lori) Munden, Melida Munden, and Georgina Butler, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
James was predeceased by brothers, sisters, and in laws, Elizabeth Critchley, Ada Carter, Betty Knee, Thomas Styles, Hannah Currie, Sarah Mcneil, Samuel Jr. Styles, Jack Styles, Montford Styles, Edward Jr. Munden, father and mother in law, Edward Sr. and Maria Munden.
The family would like to send special thanks to James’ homecare workers, the staff of Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Center, and for the medical attention he received while in St. Johns.
Family and friends may visit St. Michael & All Angels church in Rose Blanche on Thursday, April 13th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 14th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Dianna Fry. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of James may be made to the family. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. Words of comfort can be sent to the family by visiting www.oceansidefh.ca
