Mr. James Arthur “Jim” Schaffer, a resident of, Wallaceburg, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the age of 91 years.
He was born in Montreal, Quebec and was a son of the late Andras and Ethel (Korontani) Schaffer.
Beloved husband of Jean (Jacques) Schaffer.
Loving father of Ron Schaffer, Robert Schaffer and Kevin (Pam Gartner) Schaffer.
Dear grandfather of Tiffany (Adam), Candice (Mario), Somer, Brandon and great grandfather of Blake, Trevor and Sofie. Predeceased by a brother Steve Racz, survived by Steve’s wife Virginia.
Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-laws , family and friends.
Jim loved country music and would often dance whenever and wherever he could. He was never without his coffee. Often spotted riding his bike in town. He loved gardening and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, collected hats and was a Maple Leafs fan. He is now reunited with his favourite K9 buddy “Rocky”
The late Jim Schaffer is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 from 3-6pm. The Funeral Celebration will be held on Thursday, September 7th at 11am from the funeral home. Interment in Riverview Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Salvation Army may be left at the funeral home.
