In loving memory of James “Jim” Christopher Welch, 88 years who passed away Monday morning, June 17, 2024, at Health Sciences North with loving family at his side. Beloved husband of 70 years to Helen (Lynch) Welch of Capreol. Loving father of Peter of Capreol, Paul (Mary) both predeceased, John (Louise) of Lively, Adam (Carol) of Capreol, Bridget Anderson (Mark) of Burlington and James (Lucia) of Hanmer. Cherished Papa of Katrina Duff (Gerry Picard), Kristen Welch (Ryan Stilla), Matthew Welch (Amanda), Benjamin Welch predeceased, Jessica Welch (Daniel Goulet), Madeleine Anderson (Liam Dalton), Brianna Welch (Riley Serre-Gray), Kyana St. Amant (Jeff Dyck) and Shane St. Amant. Loving great grandfather of Kaija Duff, Crystal, Ceiligh, William, Alex and Coraline Welch. Dear son of James Anthony and Catherine Welch both predeceased. He will be sadly missed by 6 siblings, William Welch (Cecilia) both predeceased, Veronica Infantino (John), Catherine St. Jean (Leo predeceased), Bernadette Bruzzese (Dominic), Michael Welch and Christopher Welch (Carol) both predeceased, his sister-in-law Mary Normandin (Leo) and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was a devout Catholic and long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Capreol, where he served as a lector, alter server and server of communion for many years. Jim worked for Kraft Foods as a salesman for over 40 years retiring in 1997. During his retirement he was an avid golfer for many years with membership at the Chelmsford Golf Club during the summers and spent his winters curling out of the Capreol Curling Club. He will be missed but his memory lives on in our hearts forever.
Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Peach Church, Capreol on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11am. Cremation with entombment in the Capreol Cemetery. Donations in Jim’s memory to Our Lady of Peace church or the Society of The Little Flower Canada ca.littleflower.org would be appreciated.
