With her loving family by her side, it is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Jaqueline Patricia Cooper (PAT) at the age of 80 on Wednesday, October 18th at Vaughan Hospice.
Pat was pre-deceased by her parents, Michael and Anne Balicki and husband Robert (Sonny) Cooper. Loving mother to son David and adoring grandmother to Benjamin. She is fondly remembered by her siblings JoAnne Worsley and Michael Balicki (Erika), and as a supportive aunt to Kevin (Ema), Alanna, Larissa, Carter and Lewis.
Pat, respected and cherished by her neighbours, developed wonderful lasting friendships with them and enjoyed many years of community gatherings. She especially enjoyed witnessing the younger generation grow up around her.
Pat was a dedicated educator during her lifelong career as a fun-loving Elementary school teacher. Her students and colleagues valued her dedication, vision and contributions as a trusted teacher, mentor, and dear friend.
Growing up in the heart of Toronto, during her school years, she participated in various extra-curricular activities including cheerleading and team sports. Later she found interest in the exploration of the creative fine arts world, discovering works of local painters and artisans.
She also enjoyed and appreciated her yearly travel with family to Florida and the adventurous trips to Mexico and Costa Rico.
A heartfelt thank you to Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital and the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospice staff. We will be forever grateful for the exemplary palliative support and care committed to Pat during her final month in Hospice care.
As per Pat’s request, there will be no funeral service and no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Vaughan Hospice, Woodbridge ON or a charity of your choice will be appreciated.
