J. «Elmer» Hagan
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the
passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and
farmer, J. Elmer Hagan, age 86, peacefully with his loving wife and
family at the QEH on May 24, 2024 Elmer, son of the late
Joseph and Kathleen (Hughes) Hagan, was a hard working man who devoted
his life to his family, his faith, and his farm.
Elmer, with his wife and family, found his true calling on
the farm. He spent countless hours in the fields, under hot sun and in
the pouring rain, always ensuring the animals were cared for and the
crops were thriving.
Left to mourn is his loving wife Evelyn (Flood) of 62 years,
children Randy (Kim); Tracey (Rob O’Connor) and Kimberley
(Joey Smith), grandchildren Kelsey (Varun Sharma), and Mitchell Hagan;
Liam (Alyssa Mol), Brianna and Ryan O’Connor; and Patrick
and Riley (Bailie Campbell) Smith. Survived by his brothers
and sisters-in-laws Leo Condon, Inez Duffy, Rita Matters, Marie Flood,
and Wayne and Eileen Sharpe. Predeceased by his son, Little Elmer,
parents in law Mary Alice and Matthias Flood, brother’s and
sister’s in-laws, Bob and Bernice Jelinski; Peter and Stella
Funke; Rosaline Condon, Jack Duffy, Frances Matters and Linus
Flood.
Funeral mass on Friday, May 31, 2:00 p. m., at St Francis of
Assisi, Cornwall PE. Interment at St. Malachy’s
Cemetery, Kinkora following the funeral.
Special thank you to QEH Emergency Department and Unit 2 for
their excellent care. Donations gratefully accepted to the QEH
Emergency Department or Unit 2. Funeral arrangements are
entrusted to Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora.
Rest in peace, dear farmer. Your work here is done, but your
spirit will forever live on.
