Proctor, Irma Maureen
Irma Maureen Proctor was born in Orangeville on September 10th, 1949 to Ann and Victor Speers. She was raised on the family farm in Caledon on Airport Rd. She attended Shannon School, ODSS, Lakeshore Teachers’ College and Wilfrid Laurier University. She was a teacher for 33 years with the Dufferin County and Upper Grand School Board. In 1969, she met a young teacher named Bryan Proctor. They were married in 1972 and shared over 51 years together. In 1980, they were blessed with their son Ian Thomas. Irma’s cornerstone throughout her life was music. She was a proud member of Orangeville Sweet Adelines for 33 years and also enjoyed her participation with the Achill Choral Society since 2016.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Friday, April 5th, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Celebration of life will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre 21 First St Orangeville, Ontario on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 2:30 pm.
A tree will be planted in memory of Irma in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 22nd Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
