It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rose-Marie Martel, 77, on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Dieppe, she was the daughter of the late Léonide and the late Irène Goguen (Bastarache).
Rose-Marie will be sadly missed by her children: Nicole (Gary) Roy of Saint-Joseph-de-Kent, Christine (Gilles) Caissie of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, and Marc (Lisette) LeBlanc of Moncton; her grandchildren: Savannah, Ashley, Jérémie, Janie, and Catherine; her sister, Lucille (late Paul) Breau of Dieppe; her brothers: Jacques (late Ella) Goguen of Moncton, Emery (Clara) Goguen of Squamish, BC, and Francis (late Mary) Goguen of Bathurst; her stepchildren: Theresa Finney, Sharron Martel, and Trevor Martel; her sister-in-law, Doris Goguen of Saint-Édouard-de-Kent; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Glen; her infant baby, Charline; her brothers: Philip and Ronald; and her niece, Lyanne Breau.
Rose-Marie was very much loved by her students during her long career as a teacher in Salisbury and in Bouctouche. She loved reading and had a passion for traveling to different countries. She would often donate to charities in order to help people in need.
The family would like to thank Dr. Searle and the nurses at the palliative care unit for their wonderful care.
In respect to Rose-Marie’s wishes, there will be no visitations and no funeral service. A graveside ceremony will be held in the spring.
Donations in memory of Rose-Marie can be made to the Harvest House, Foodbank, or to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital.
