MacLennan, Ila (May 8, 1933 – September 2, 2024)
Passed away peacefully, on Monday, September 2nd, 2024, at the Maple Manor Residence, Tillsonburg, Ila Jean (Rooke) MacLennan formerly of Dereham Centre at the age of 91. Born in Dereham Centre daughter of the late Thomas Rooke and Olive (Lockey) Rooke. Ila was a member of the former Dereham Centre United Church and she was a Life Member of the UCW. Ila was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother and great-grandmother. Ila was a member of the Dereham Centre Hall Board. Predeceased by her husband of 55 years Murray Alexander MacLennan (October 17, 2005) and a loved son William “Bill” MacLennan (February 18, 2022). Also predeceased by her five brothers: Lawrence, Max, Harvey, George and Donald and her five sisters: Flossie, Marion, Cora, June, Dorothy. Survived by her children: Sharon (Don) Brinn and their children Don (Erin) and Debbie (John) Cservid and their children Audrey and Ian and John’s son Brandon. Doug (Nancy) MacLennan and their children John (Rebecca) and their children Max, Thad, Prudence, Priscilla and Penelope; Meghan (Wayne) McGlynn; Jillian and her friend Kyle and Jillian’s children Delaney and Dax. Marilyn (Jim) Mercer and their children Marsha (Darrin) Smith and their daughter Calista and Aron and his fiancé Alexa Baker. Michael (Sandy) MacLennan and their daughter Tess. Also survived by a daughter-in-law Lavina MacLennan and a sister-in-law Bernice Rooke.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family on Friday, September 6th, 2024 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (service time) at the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg. Funeral Service to Celebrate Ila’s Life to be conducted on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, Tillsonburg, by Rev. Ted Smith of Courtland United Church. Interment follows in the Delmer Cemetery. Everyone who knew Ila is invited to share favourite memories and photos, leave Letters of Support and Condolence, send flowers via Ila’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com, or contribute memorial donations by cheque to “Dereham Centre Hall Board” through the Maurice J.
