It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Hubert Power of Little St. Lawrence announces his passing. Hubert passed away at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the age of 77.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife, Nora of 54 years; daughter, Michelle Whittle (Michael) of Torbay; sons, Hubert Power of St. Lawrence and Wade Power (April) of St. John’s; grandchildren, Emily Power (Mike) of St. John’s and Cassandra Reimer (Pete) of Brooks, AB; great-grandchildren, Naomi, Jacob and Louise; fur grandbabies, Milo, Maggie and Molly; sisters, Marion Doody (George), Alice Power (Wayne), Violet Farrell (Patrick) and Maude Burke; brothers, Mike Power, Martin Power (Velma), Paul Power (Maureen), Cecil Power (Carol) and Junior Power (Ida); sister-in-law, Marie Lundrigan; brother-in-law, Fred Brown; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Hubert was predeceased by his parents, Gertrude & Anthony Power; parents-in-law, Mary & David Lundrigan; sister, Agnes Power; brother, John Power; special daughter-in-law, Joanne Power; and brothers-in-law, William Lundrigan, Richard Lundrigan (Grace), Ernest Lundrigan (Gertrude) and Henry Burke.
Hubert loved the outdoors. He was happiest when near a pond or on a salmon river. He was a kind gentle man who fiercely loved his family. He had an infectious smile and a heart of gold.
In honoring his wishes, cremation will take place.
The Power Family will be accepting visitors at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, St. Lawrence on:
Friday, March 1st
1pm – 4pm
6pm – 9pm
A funeral mass will take place at at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, St. Lawrence on:
Saturday, March 2nd at 11am
The Power Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre and 4 North B and 5 South A at the Health Science Centre. Also, a special thank you to all who have supported the family in their darkest hour. They will be forever grafeful.
