H.P. Leroy « Roy » Knowtlon
1939-2023
Roy
Knowlton, 83, of Moncton passed away on February 12th, 2023, at the
Moncton Hospital after a brief illness with his family by his
side. Roy was born in Alma on March 24th, 1939, the son of
the late Perry and Mabel (Hopper)
Knowlton.
He
will be deeply missed by his loving wife Stella (Duffy); his sons,
Michael Knowlton (Barb) and Stephen Knowlton (France); stepchildren,
Anthony Robichaud (Janice), Gisele Gilbert and Nathalie McCann (Ryan);
granddaughters Nadya, Melissa (Ryan) and Brittany (Kirk); great
grandchildren, Austin, Maddox, Aubree, Amelia and many nephews,
nieces, and friends.
Roy
loved to be with family and friends, play darts and cards and cook. He
was an avid outdoors man and made many memories at the camps in both
New Ireland and in Saint John, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
During his career he worked in construction, was well known for
flooring installation, and retired from the Saint John Airport
Building Maintenance Dept.
Roy
will be remembered for his presence, strength, laughter, quick wit and
love for his family and stepfamily. He always had a special place in
his heart for his girls and was loved deeply in return. We will
remember his smile forever and the good times we shared. His
spirit will continue to live on through all that spent time with him,
and in the whispering winds of the New Ireland
Hills.
Roy
is survived by his sister, Vivian Grimba of Moncton and
predeceased by sister Cecelia Steeves, and brothers, Gordon
Knowlton; Ernest « Bud » McDuff and James
« Jim » McDuff.
Honouring
Roy’s own wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral
service.
We
would like to say thank you to the staff of the oncology wing at the
Moncton Hospital for their amazing care and
support.
For

Cemetery in Lower Cape, or the charity of your choice in his
name is greatly appreciated.
