Obituary of Herbert John Nickerson
NICKERSON, Herbert John- Age 76 of Halifax, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on May 24th, 2024. “Thanks to the children and grandchildren; thanks to my parents, Ralph and Inez Nickerson who adopted, showed me love, and treated me like their own. See you in heaven! With Christ, far better”

Herbert got saved at the Gospel Tent in Sambro at age 16. He pedaled home as fast as he could to tell his mom.
After graduating from High School, he worked as an orderly in the OR, and later as a Practical Nurse. He went on to operate his own flooring business “Nickerson’s Flooring” for many years. His main passion was singing hymns and to remember his Lord in His death (Communion).
Herbert is survived by his wife, Elaine (Roach) Nickerson; six children, Paula (Daniel) Voicu Romania, Philip (Kimberly) Nickerson, Nova Scotia, Joel (Nicole) Nickerson, Nova Scotia, Anna (Viorel) Vasile, Nova Scotia, Beth (Alan) MacGillivray, Nova Scotia and Faith Nickerson, Nova Scotia; 10 grandchildren, Joana, Joseph, Philip, and Priscilla Voicu, Romania, Lucy and Edmund Nickerson, Olivia Nickerson, David, and Maria Vasile, and Levi Mayienda, Nova Scotia; siblings, Ruth Weir, Ruby (Stephen) Sarty, Una Mae Roach and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both his parents, Ralph and Inez (Turner) Nickerson; sister, Linda (Ronald) Munroe; in-law, John Weir.
Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax. Visitation will be at Sheffield Baptist Church located at 80 Lincoln Cross, Halifax starting at 11 am on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. The funeral will follow at the same location at 1 pm, which will be live streamed through YouTube on the Sheffield Baptist Church channel.
